Mushy Pop pattern


 

Do you have a market? Need a quick 30 minute crochet project? Definitely check out these mushy pops! They are a quick make and are even more fun to play with. 

 

The top doubles as a fidget  you can pop it up and down for all your entertainment!


Before you begin… 

 

  • Work in the continuous round (do not sl st or ch 1 at the end of each round)
  • The number before the abbreviation tells you how many stitches of that type to make.
    • Example: 2 Sc means 1 single crochet in one stitch and 1 single crochet in the next stitch
  • (...)x # Indicates a repeat
    • Example: (Sc inc, Sc)x 2 means 2 single crochet in one stitch and 1 single crochet in the next stitch. This will be repeated 2 times.
  • (#) Indicates the number of stitches you should have at the end of the round
    • Example: (12) means there should be a total of 12 stitches in the round
  • Materials
    • Yarn of your choice (recommended two different colors)
    • Crochet hook (recommend to size down)
    • Stitch markers
    • Darning needle
    • Safety eyes or embroidery thread
    • Scissors
    • Stuffing (Polyfill

Abbreviations

  • Mr = Magic ring
  • St = Stitch
  • Sc = Single crochet
  • Slst = Slip stitch
  • FO = Fasten off
  • dec = decrease
  • Sc inc: crochet 2 single crochet in the same stitch


Pattern:

Beginning with the Top

R1: Begin with 6 Sc MR (6)

R2: inc x 6 (12)

R3: (Sc, inc) x 6 (18)

R4: (2 sc, inc) x 6 (24)

R5-R6: sc around (24)

 

Color change

 

R7: BLO (2 sc, dec) x 6 (18)

R8: (Sc, dec) x 6 (12)

R9: (Dec) x 6 (6)

R10-R11: Sc around (6)

R12: inc x 6 (12)

R12: (sc, inc) x 6 (18)

R13-R14: sc around (18)

R15: dec x 6 (10)

R16: dec x 6 (5)
